Central Parks of Kyiv

  • Mariinskyi Park

    Once a parade square was to the south from Mariinskyi palace; in 1874 in its place was arranged a regular park for the means of tsar's family with an area of 8,9 hectares.

  • Mariinskyi Palace

    In 1744 empress Elizabeth defined a place for it. I. Michurin, architect, erected it in style of baroque, based on buildings of V. Rastrelli.

  • City Garden

    Today this is the name of the upper part of the former Tsar's garden.

  • Bridge of Kisses (Petrivskyi)

    No one could guess that the delicate bridge over the Petrivska alley, at first had been mounted on earth, and then the soil was dug from under it.

  • Museum of Water (Aquatic-informative Center)

    It is possible to find out everything about water here. A trip to the world of water is very interesting and untraditional.

  • Khreshchatyi Park

    It’s square is 11.8 hectares. Its name recalls the Khreshchatyi ravine Kreshchatytskyi creek. After the construction of the Mariinskyi Palace the edge of Imperial garden was here.

  • Monument to Prince Volodymyr

    This is the first Kyiv monument of sculptors V. Demut-Malynovskyi, P. Klodt and O. Ton.

  • Monument to М. Vatutin

    It is situated on the grave of general of army Mykola Vatutin – commander of 1st Ukrainian front, who freed our city from nazi invaders on November 6, 1943.

  • Funicular

    This vehicle is handy and unusual for many, it includes two outboard carriages and it once was called "Mykhailivkyi ascent".

  • Ukrainian House

    It was built in 1982 in simplified geometric forms.
